Campus Visitation

SEAGEP hosts two campus visitations programs each year for prospective students. Visiting students participate in laboratory tours, seminars on practical issues involved in preparing for graduate school, and meet with representatives from the departments to discuss prerequisites. They also meet with minority graduate students. Students may apply by downloading and filling out the PDF application.

Faculty Mentoring Workshop

SEAGEP, in collaboration with the University Center for Excellence in Teaching (UCET) and the Department of Civil and Coastal Engineering, will be hosting the first SEAGEP Faculty Mentoring Workshop. This workshop will:

  • Give you the tools you need to be an effective mentor in a multicultural setting
  • Provide you with information that will help you with the broader impacts section of NSF proposals
  • Allow you to provide input into a report on what resources you need to be successful in this area, and what you would like to see the university provide

Come and listen to nationally known invited speakers, learn from your colleagues, and hear what students have to say. This program is designed for faculty in Science, Technology, Mathematics, and Engineering Departments. We particularly encourage Assistant Professors to participate.

This one-day event will take place on Saturday, January 21, from 8:30 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. in Room 201 in the New Engineering Building on the University of Florida campus. Please mark your calendar and register for this workshop by January 13, 2006.
